Cope Clean -Start Home Makeover Project
I have been wanting to reach out to a family in need and help them the best way I can, which in this case is a home makeover. I think a clean, inspiring environment is crucial to well-being and a sense of self-worth. Thus the name of this project was born; Clean -Start.
I contacted Cope Family Center and let them know my idea for a home makeover project, three weeks later they contacted me with the candidate family. This Napa family was struggling to raise three young children in tough economic times, the mother was diagnosed this year with rheumatoid arthritis and the father only had part-time work as a vineyard farmer. The children suffered from allergies, so our first step of order was to get rid of the old carpet in their home.
Total cost for volunteer make over for two rooms: $1,200.00 !
